Um, I appreciate the quotes padding out the right side of the page so nicely, but what movies are they from? I take it that something about this character I posted looked like an in joke of some kind?

I appreciate injokes BTW, I'd just like to know because from the sound of the quotes, it's my kind of movie ;-)

On 9.6.2004 17:13 Elliott946@aol.com wrote:
Oh, my bad. The hero of the "Evil Dead" movies is named Ash and he's, well, sort of a barehanded combat kinda guy and in fact gets possessed (well, parts of him, at least) more than once.

The first movie was really just a standard, if moderately creative, supernatural horror film. The above quotes are from movies 2 and 3 which are among the best movies of all time.

On 10.6.2004 10:23 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
LOL! I thought it was from the evil dead movies, but I couldn't be sure since I've only seen the first in its entirety and only pieces of the other two. I was a little too, *ahem*, "inebriated" to remember the others well but have always wanted to rent the rest again now that I'm *much* more sober these days. Older too, hehe... thanks for reminding me I wanted to do that!

How did I manage to turn maximise mode off? I must have been reeeeaaaalllly tired when I made this guy up! Hope it doesn't make things too difficult for me statwise...

Two minutes after posting about the anchor, what do I find? I should start posting about random artifacts to see if I can keep up the trend.

Humans have +/-0 to all stats, so maximize mode should make no difference

On 11.6.2004 20:21 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
Thanks for the info on that, I never did bother to figure out the difference between maximise mode on or off, and since I noticed my maximum stats are different than they were on previous characters (this is my first loremaster), I thought maybe there could be some effect. I guess it's just loremaster limits, plus I normally play nonhuman so that is making a difference too...

Well I've got all the rings for what I planned, just no Wyrm body to do it with, after mordor it's time for Wyrm hunting in Erebor

On 12.6.2004 12:01 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
Well I have to say that a possessing loremaster is an easy ride so far. I don't have a Wyrm body yet, but Eol has made it fairly straightforward. Now it's just a matter of equipment. Of course I have to finally find Cubragol for the first time with a character that is going Dragon possessing. If I'm not mistaken, Wyrms don't have shooter slots, but then that is my luck, isn't it? I'm going to jinx myself by saying that I think I'll be taking this guy farther than I've gone before in this game, maybe even to Morgoth. I don't see why I can't, and now I understand why some say loremasters have an easy ride...

Nice collection of rings.

Too many junky randart rings, have to get rid of some. I'll take the watcher body for a spin if I find the last thanc too. I won't play it through, I just want to see what the set does for once.

On 14.6.2004 11:45 Juergen wrote:
Had my brain on maximize=off too, it seems :-)
You loose the +/- to stats of the loremaster-class when the stats max out, but that's no too big difference

On 14.6.2004 13:00 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
Thanks for following up on the topic. I realized it must have done that as well when I was between bodies and noticed that all my stats were 28. I lost Eol's body too, but that's no big deal; the watcher has better slots and teleport to was the only power I was using with Eol anyway. The watcher has the teleport to power and since I have the one boomerang that prevents teleport, I don't miss the fact that the watcher doesn't have a light slot... actually, my inventory makes more sense with this body in general, and I'm glad I didn't sell all the shields I found :-)

On 14.6.2004 17:07 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
Well thinking that the boomerang "Glimdrir" would prevent *All* teleportation and not just *My* teleportation almost got me killed in the Crypt, but I survived and promptly sold that piece of crap. Oh well, I guess I'll have to swap in an amulet of anti-teleport then... The watcher in the water is looking slightly less appealling now, but no matter. I'll dump it back in storage the second I get a good GWOP body.

On 14.6.2004 20:19 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
Doop eee doo.... another update, another body...
The necromancer dropped a body and I thought, what the heck! Not a bad set of powers on this guy. I have fewer ring slots, but at least I'm summonning high undead. Better than Eol's midrange summons. Still looking for a GWoP though...

On 14.6.2004 20:21 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
Oh, I forgot to mention for the curious, I'm most impressed by the *HUGE* increase in HPs with the necromancer over the watcher in the water. Much more than Eol as well.

On 14.6.2004 21:49 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
Well I had the body of Maeglin and was taking it for a spin when for the first time ever, I managed to get forced from my body when I tried to use a power with no mana. Too bad. I was summonning high dragons in hopes of getting a GWoP too.

On 15.6.2004 14:27 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
I really wish fireproofing kept staves from getting nuked at the recharge shop! The one good staff of vision I've ever found and the only thing I've ever fireproofed by the mage quest and *poof*! Back to leeching fountains again... sigh...

On 15.6.2004 22:29 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
Well I finally found another good staff of vision, slogged through various wyrms on an FF quest for sky drakes that saw me go up 5mil xp at least, and finally got a body that can summon high dragons! It's not ideal, but seeing as how I'm just at the lip of some very ugly places in Angband, I could use the summonning. I just can't believe that I have the xp that I have without summonning a thing so far. Now that'll change ;-)

On 15.6.2004 23:56 TheKnightofMirrors@hotmail.com wrote:
And it was the summoning that killed me. I was too stunned to get the final dump, but simply put, it was one or two levels further down and I was pumping out wyrms just to get the GWoP since the few that my allies offed on the way to clearing my princess quest didn't drop bodies. I was forced out of my body and while I was sorting through the many wyrm bodies laying around, I slipped up and walked over a lava square in spirit form. Blech...

That's why I always wear a flipped Amulet of Doom when running possessor. It recurses itself and prevents me from leaving the body when I inevitably forget to check my pitiful mana reserves before summoning my next bunch of friends. I'm currently running in a GWOP body that my lost soul death mold picked up in the beginning of the game. Makes the initial part of the game (after exiting the Halls of Mandos that is) quite laughable.
