Like most pure spell casters I try to lean on a good launcher to help advance during the early/middle part of the game. I was very lucky in this game but a great light crossbow early in the game and used it for the remainder.

With Morgoth I mostly enjoyed smashing him with meteors and when he got close I used the rift spell hoping to push him back for more meteor pummeling. It works fairly well, but not always as hoped. The rift spell is not guaranteed to move him and once it actually moved him right next to me. So..don't do that :) Only use Rift when he is getting pretty close (6-7 spaces?).
