Went East to Belegost and back to Menegroth before heading West to Amon Rudh. (Mostly) cleared levels 16, 20, and 24, and just set a recall anchor on level 28. Most interesting find is the Cap of the Shadow Realm. Tumbar is walking around in the dark with nothing in the light slot. Stealth is good, which improves safety. Just sold stuff and bought a stack of wands of acid bolts at the Black Market in Belegost. Turn count is not good.

Made it to CL25, and Mim is down. He left me the Shield of Night and Day, but nothing else useful. He finally got a nice bow (bought in Belegost) to replace his (barely) enchanted short bow. Maybe archery can start to supplement spells now. For special abilities he chose Fast Casting at the start and just added Heighten Magic. He can cast Fire Bolt like a machine gun with increasingly large "bullets". I guess it's time to head North to Nargothrond...
