Tried to take on Pendragon, but had to ?Teleport Level out of there. He was just too nasty- especially without -Stone to Mud(which I would really love to find!).

Next order of business will probably be to troll Lonely 39 until I can get reasonable upgrades for all my slots. My armour and resists are pretty weak at the moment aside from the delightful Robe of Permanence.

@krazyhades, Maybe, but there are quite a few lovely new wands as well. My star player is currently my -Plasma Bolts.

Probably going to head to the arena soon. I could really use !New Life or a lot more constitution, because 465 is simply way too little HP.

Still, Puck is very enjoyable to play. Have probably spent over 1m now on combined rod gambling and black market device buys. -Disenchantment Ball and -Sound Ball are absolutely excellent. -Nether is great for decimating non-evil monsters. For now I will dream of -Mana Balls and more +Speed gear.

I've ended up with quite a bit of nice gear and my second !New Life got me to 110/100 life rating with a 18/130 CON cap. So there is a lot of HP yet to come. The 18/80 INT cap is a little unfortunate though.

@krazyhades, I don't recall what that does, but it sounds fun. Is it a random effect vis a vis Call to the Void?

@wobbly, Hugothegreat2015, Yeah. Even when orange stunned I still have a 1.6% fail rate with all rods and I can use them while feared. Fail rates are not really an issue when it comes to devices.

Looks like the deep rods are for mana/shards/chaos balls (natural depth: 4000'), plus one more for light balls that starts appearing naturally at 4750'.

@Mitze, I've been scumming both Ang:70 and Ang:80 looking for "good object" dropping monsters for a while now to no avail. As I understand it, white aura gives me +10 effective depth when finding items. Is that correct?

I'm basically wondering if I should be searching depth 70 or depth 80 when trying to find the deep rods.

Again, not sure if I'm parsing this correctly, but I think the 'white aura' mutation gives you an additional +5 to the chance for an item to be good, and additional +2 to the chance for an item to be great, and a 1.29% chance for an item to be generated as an artifact (if allowed, apparently).

I'd like it if someone who's more knowledgable would double-check this, though (you're looking at lines 4909 through 5084).

Also losing mana to preserve the charges of your utility wands is incredibly annoying. Only on Healing would it be worthwhile. Shame I never got that one though.

That's too bad. I always thought they should get 0%. It's a world of difference between a guaranteed heal/teleport and a may-fail heal/teleport.

Especially since magic eaters do get 0% fail rates...

I definitely agree. Failing (at least with your chosen device type) should not be a thing on a class dedicated to using devices the best.
In their current iteration I think magic eaters are far better than Devicemasters- if only for slot efficiency.
