It's interesting golem/mighty/7 int/lvl 1 is around 6% fail on wand of magic missiles but 95% fail if you eat it, so I guess you don't eat your main attack wands till you get something better. On the other hand I tried just piling on armour & tanking theives quest & they can almost do it without consumables.

Anyway posting so early because I just found tele other on dungeon lvl 4. Had to phase to get to it because of a room overtaken by lice.

The combination of dud items stuck to me/1 staff of perception/sped metabolism/health drain was making inventory management a pain on the class with the least inventory issues. Golem speed penalty has started kicking in but with the speed staff I spend most of the time at +9 speed. The recharge rate is not quite good enough to be perma-hasted, but close enough too. The fail rate however makes it a little frustrating.

[clvl 19, mighty golem, 12 int] speed staff fail = 53%. Bad but not a huge deal when you've ate a detection rod.

Ice Edge dropped on deathswords, a perfect golem weapon if I didn't need int. Thranduil dropped in vapour quest making it viable, then I maxed broadsword skill at beginner on mimics. I'm pretty sure my katana skill will be the same.

Maybe a small sword like sting is usable? The war hammer gets to skilled, as does the cutlass. Weapon options are going to be tight if I want to actually hit things with them.

Dear Diary, so glad I packed crossbow bolts for my um.. longbow.

Random Shop decided to stop giving me staffs of treasure detection & I now have a staff of power, so play is much faster. Watching Grendels Mob melt was a joy. It took Syclla breathing on me once to convince me that trying it again was a bad idea.

Switched the combat ring to the correct hand & changed my thief gloves for slaying. Can do melee damage now but miss the stealth. I'm somewhere I probably shouldn't be (lesser krakens curse me for a hefty chunk of my health) & I can see an un-ided potion I'd rather grab before leaving. Expect next post to be the tombstone.

Cleared all of the level except for a couple of lesser krakens, Charybdis, a great bile wyrm & a colour from outer space. Ever noticed lesser krakens & whales look the same? Almost got me killed.
