It's a demi, for fell sorcery (only racial that affects spell power directly I think?) and an Athena follower to boot. She seemed most suitable, if only for extra counters vs spell failure. Although looking at failure rate so far I'm pretty sure you can reach 0% with just high enough int. Which probably means Shrewd was overkill as well.

It's been a reasonably straightforward playthrough after Nibbler's gotten several frost and fire bolts as well as detection. He simply avoids anything he can't kill, which is plenty as this character has foresworn all kinds of combat other than through [m]agic abilities (two shields from the get go just to make sure I don't accidentally hit something).

Now in the stat gaining phase, which coincidentally is also the x-ball spell gaining phase. I feel like lack of poison resistance might kill poor Nibbler if I'm not careful enough. Funnily enough, closest calls so far were on -speed when scores of loot weighted him down.

Animate dead has proven a bit more useful than expected. I imagine carrying corpses come endgame is very likely. And about that endgame - it's not too long before the second demigod trait. No idea what to choose though.
