Well, that's enough for the quests for a bit, I think. Right after scoring the mighty Glaive of Pain in The Barrow Downs, the RNG thru 3 consecutive disenchanting dwarves in my path. Hagen, I meleed without issue as he only got a single round of attacks and missed on his disenchantment strike. Alberich disenchanted my robe of resistance, kindly sparing my shiny glaive. After that, I resorted to shooting. Mime never got close.

Gachapin was readily handled, and provided Arvedui. Given a choice between Poison and Nexus, I guess I'll choose Nexus, though Toxic Waste can have some nasty scrambling effects too.

Scylla was a bit worrisome without poison resistance. Especially as she came with an army of 7 headed hydras! So, now is when quests can get to be too much for me, so I better go some place else for stat potions. Lately, I've been doing The Mountain quite a bit. But without levitation, I guess I better head over to The Castle.

So, I did The Killing Fields to train dual wielding up to Skilled, and then The Cloning Pits ... which was tough!! Stupid Durahan summoned Zephyr Lord summoned pack of Nexus Hounds. Of course, I swapped to cover poison instead, so this required a bit of care, and I still took three breaths. A single scramble ends the game, effectively, so its like a one shot insta-death.

In the end, I'm going with Celegorm and Himring, but my AC is still too low for a Storm Wyrm ... Also, Hrunting is a slightly better dragon slayer than the glaive, and also gives levitation.

Hmmm ... a Troll Pit on DL35 had 25 Troll Kings inside! Yikes! Normally, one should flee when that happens, but I managed to kill them all and scored a couple potions of con for my troubles. I guess this is what happens when the RNG decides Forest Trolls are too wimpy for DL35 :D

OK, things are officially getting hairy. After an annoying quest for Bleys on a full sized level, I forced the levels small, which is definitely *not* wise! Damn, Iketa then Biketal was tough, but mainly because I was fleeing from 5 other monsters, including Brand. Both Iketa and Brand drain charges, so I was trying to find a quiet place to stash my goodies. In the end, I killed Brand and let him drain from me, but Iketa I managed to buy a bit of time with. I'm not sure what I would be doing without Smeagol's 5 minute boots of speed. That and my racial speed boost are almost all the game has had to offer so far. Well, not counting that hobbit crap ... Yeah, I guess that +4 speed shooter at home is pretty nice. And Fiona, too. I'll shut up now!

Great Wyrms of Law are somewhat common down here, and me lacking shards resistance. Its only a matter of time :D
