I randomly selected a race and a class (and got a gnome mage, which isn't bad), and decided to play a no-artifact game for the first time. I know it's possible, but I've never tried it and it's a bit daunting.

After winning with my last ranger in a randart game with crappy gear and an ego bow, I think this one might have a good shot, especially with the Morgoth technique I used on my last mage which required zero consumables and him not hitting me once. Here goes! Slow and steady.
