It just dawned to me that this thread should have been called Favorite *bands. What a lost opportunity for a pun...

I recently bought a nice collection of classical guitar mucis by Briiliant Classics:

Brilliant Classics makes classical music recorded in top quality affordable to everyone! Discover our recordings now!

It is also on youtube in several parts.

There are lots of rather calm pieces.

I might have heard that classic someplace, but I cannot point where. Thanks

This is my current style, btw:

            Hugo--
You probably heard it in church, except with changed lyrics. ("What child is this" and many, many others. ) The original greensleeves is baroque country music, about "a woman* that done me wrong."

            * likely a prostitute.

The soundtrack of Eador: Imperium has some very nice and calm guitar pieces.
I haven't seen the soundtrack on youtube though, there is no extra download on gog for it, but the music is in ogg format in the installation folder of the game.

Not sure how much people here venture into pop music, but the latest Haim album "Women in Music pt III" is pretty good. We caught them on their performance on the Grammy's and decided to get the album. It's a nice journey beginning to end, and many of the songs remind positively of other good artists, like that one sounds like Beck, that one like Sheryl Crow, is this other one Joni Mitchell?

We also listened to their earlier albums which I found entirely unremarkable.

Our latest find is the Linda Lindas. They are an all female youth punk band that had a short scene in the Netflix movie Moxie. They're on Bandcamp with a few songs but I'm not sure where else, best bet is to find YouTube videos. The drummer is only 11 I think!

"No Rainbows For Me" - Saint Etienne

Not recent. The album containing the song, was released 28 years ago. Probably not a style of music people here listen, but I love it. It's beautiful. I don't wanna wake up in a day, where rap stars have started to sample Saint Etienne's melodies and Sarah Cracknell's singing.

Keys of Orthanc (LOTR-themed Canadian black metal bandname)
Songnames: "Lord's Bane", "Besieged", "The Last Alliance"

Definitely NOT a Summoning copycat at all. Although not as well known as Summoning, this one made a name for it. Atmospheric yes, but with much harsher brutal metal growls. Lots of intricate metal instrumentation. Totally one of my favorite LOTR-themed bands of all time! No less!

Here's Lord's Bane by Keys of Orthanc

I love Saint Etienne, but I didn't remember this one. Should have, good little mood piece. Favorite album still is Foxbase Alpha, from 1991.
