If you do everything you should end up with around 500k fame.
No, Grond doesn't reforge into anything interesting it caps at 90k.
You can fix your fame by going to Heaven and fighting the boss there for a while.

It's like that currently. I think if you're the opposite alignment you get *BURNED* instead of burned.

One With Magic is more or less the best option since things will keep dispelling until it works so not only do you get to keep your buffs but you sometimes get free turns. If you aren't in wraithform at endgame more or less any double move can kill you, even in wraithform you might get killed by double psycho-spear or starburst and unyielding could help you there - I'd prefer it to Evasion since breaths cap out lower than spell damage.
Fell Sorcery is very good on normal casters but Sorcerer really wants 2 defensive demigod talents if you're playing a demigod on them.
Realm lights don't work for Sorcerers and other classes without a primary realm which is just the usual sort of idiosyncrasy *bands have.

I can't ban ster from my roguelikes site though like all other roguelike admins have because it lets him win

I kind of like "immolated" as a descriptor of holy fire, too. But I also like "smitten"; it has the right FrogComposband frivolity.
The Complainer worries about the lack of activity here these days.

Odd question. I installed MinGW and compiled the latest version of the source as of this writing. --enable-win et all.

And it's... doing ok, except when I maximize the screen, the screen is limited to like 20 characters across. It fills the screen as normal up and down.

When I don't use maximize and just drag the screen, it's fine until... I think when it hits 1080p (my monitor is 1440p) when it does:

Discover the magic of the internet at Imgur, a community powered entertainment destination. Lift your spirits with funny jokes, trending memes, entertaining gifs, inspiring stories, viral videos, and so much more from users.

              Ninja Edit:

After a bit of fiddling and a day of playing, I set the font to size 12 and extended the size of the "tiles" slightly, this resolved it.

              Edit:

              Igor thoughts:

              * To remove items from your ice bag, you (t)ake them out and hit \ to switch to ice bag.
              * I don't quite get what determines what causes body parts to successfully pop out of the corpse. Sounds like Dex?
              * So far, no body parts have been useful at all, but it's very early.
              * Looking through the source, I can't quite make heads or tails about what body parts get what and how.

              Blue Mage thoughts:

              * You start with a wand of magic missile and no spells. Makes sense, but I'd almost rather see you start with magic m...
              * ... Can you shoot yourself with the wand to learn magic missile? (No)
              * First spell I always go for is running straight to the bandit cave and hoping for something to shoot me or hit me with magic missile. A nice single target spell.
              * When I think Blue Mages, I think Scimitar or Long Sword for some reason. FF5 had them using swords IIRC, FFXI had them as a more arabic theme, so scimitars. FF14 has them using rods, though.
              * Shoot (arrows) are ok, but Magic Missile seems to do more damage.
              * Swamps have Stinking Cloud, which is a great aoe
              * Dark Nagas have a ton of spells.

Igor + Blue Mage feels very very weak, although I'm not very used to mages, tbh. More than once I've been one shotted. Will keep trying. Since dying during the tavern quest is pretty easy, I have taken to just going straight to Bandit floor 1 and looking for something to learn magic missile or shoot from.

I see you can now do a random Chaos Patron... is there a rhyme or reason to them? I know in zangband they had spoily differences...:

So, I've discovered a weird bug in this variant with this version. One I never found before.
Every so often now, the game freaks out and gives me an error message about Assertion Failed when I pick up items.
                IT's in relation to the Obj->loc.where == inv->type
This is really annoying, because I really like this character so far, and I have no idea why it started to happen, or what caused it. It's completely random, and any item can set it off, and it breaks the game because even though I can ignore it, it constantly spams it every time I pick up any item after that.
I don't know what the heck is going on.

                Has anyone had this happen?

That's a new one; my first guess would be savefile corruption, caused either by a rare bug or some external issue, but I'd have to see the savefile to draw any real conclusions.

If you want a more in-depth treatment of chaos patrons, Oposband has copied Composband's patron behaviour. The FrogComposband answer to this seems to be disciples.

I'm hoping someone can help with a quick question on FrogComPosBand - I'm playing on angband.live.

Somehow I accidentally turned on auto destroyer, and it unnerves me that I don't know how to turn it off. The choices seem reasonable - pottery shards, skeletons, etc. And now for the first time it just destroyed an average weapon, maybe because I just turned CL 20. Is there a keyboard command that I accidentally hit that turns on auto destroy? I use roguelike keyset.

When I look at Options, Auto Destroyer Options, I have "use easy auto destroyer" to no. I may want to leave it on, I just wish I knew how I turned it on and how to turn it off.

I took nearly two years to win with a single character in PosChengband.

You can either turn on the no_mogaminator option, which turns the Mogaminator off entirely, or turn on the leave_mogaminator option, which disables the destruction part of the Mogaminator only while allowing you to still use other parts of it (auto-pickup, auto-inscription, listing of wanted objects in object list etc.) Turning always_pickup on would also disable the destruction part of the Mogaminator, in addition to making you pick up everything that isn't destroyed by the Easy Destroyer. (Don't use the Easy Destroyer if you also use the Mogaminator unless you turn always_pickup on.)

You can press _ to edit the Mogaminator preferences, allowing you to remove the parts you don't like. Pressing _ is the typical way the Mogaminator is activated, but pressing P in the main options menu would also do it; I'd guess you did one of those two things either by accident or out of curiosity.
