    The Angband variant repository now has source for Angband and 96 variants, derivatives and patches. There are still a few missing, for two main reasons:
    1. I haven't found any source code. Variants here are:
      • CAngband
      • CyAngband
      • Diabloband
      • GSNband
      • GSN2band
      • Smutiband
      • FFVIIband
      • Flavor Angband
      • Gerband
    2. The variant branched from Angband after version 3.0.6, and I am still waiting on the source for 3.0.7s1 and 3.0.7s2. Once I have this I will put up these variants:
      • Angband/65
      • Craftband
      • DaJAngband
      • Jackband
      • Neoband
      • RePosband
      • Touhou Angband

    There is also Cryptband, which I haven't done yet because I can't work out which version it branched from; and a few Japanese-only variants which I may chase down at some point.

    Please let me know if I have missed anything. At some point I will probably add some description to at least some of the variant pages; if anyone wants to write such descriptions, I'd be happy to accept them. I would also be very pleased if anyone could contribute any source that I'm missing (for many variants I don't have all releases).

        I am sad that GSNBand has gone missing! I remember it being around when I first got into Angband in the late 90s...

          As I get older there's also an xp tax where you lose a fraction to "forgot".

            Yeah, there are still some compiled versions around (at Furytech, for example), but I couldn't find any source.

            I really am very keen to track down more source for this and other variants if possible. So if anyone has old zipfiles or tarballs lying around, please let me know.

                Thanks for the suggestion, though - I'm hoping that there are places out there I haven't found. I'm considering a mass spam to old maintainer email addresses at some point, too.

                  I now believe that the Angband Variant Repository is up to date, as far as I can make it.

                  Please have a look and
                  1. Point out any variant I have missed;
                  2. Give me links to any versions I have not included;
                  3. Send me any version you may have lying around on your hard drive that is not included.

                  Note that this is source only; there are other places (some of them linked off the variant repo page) where compiled versions can be found.

                    There's a FinalFantasyVII-band?
                    That's awesome! Where can I get it? I want to fight Chocobos!

                    (And is Smutiband as much fun as it sounds?)

                      Sadly, there is no source for either. I don't recall even finding binaries for FFVIIband, and Smutiband I think there was an existing Mac OS 9 version, or something.

                        Oh wow, my mostly nonfunctional variant Jackband is going to be archived? I never got very far with that thing, so I can't even remember if it's playable...

                                I seem to recall some "internet historians" trying to rescue Geocities by mirroring all of it. I'm not sure how far they got...

                                I think http://www.oocities.org/ may be it.
