    Some comments.
    1) It crashes with "gruesome software bug" after character death without chance to make dump (not allways), after restarting it does not show previous char dump as FA normally do.

    2) Overall interface is too vanilla-like, e. g. 'enter' is required after *
    arrows dont work in menus
    etc.
    a lot of nasty things.
store interface 'lags' e.g. pressing keys fast results in it not working
stores seems to sell to few items ?????
    no starting gold
some options, that was 'normal' are now birth options.

    3) Locations are buggy, town shown as nowhere town, lvl 1 shown as town, etc. in char history.

    4) Town looks terrible in 80X25 console mode. It seems it is 81X26 actually.

    5) Overall good job, vanilla players will probably like it.

I haven't seen that crash - I will look for it. I have to add back the previous character display.

I've noticed these a bit too, but haven't tracked them down

        no starting gold
When you have spent all points? I need to check that.

some options, that was 'normal' are now birth options.
That was intentional - I have overhauled the options completely.

        3) Locations are buggy, town shown as nowhere town, lvl 1 shown as town, etc. in char history.
That one I haven't seen at all. Can you give more detail?

        OK, I'll check that.

Thanks for the quick feedback - there were always going to be a bunch of things like this, so I'm glad to see the first batch. Please do give more detail where I asked for it, or even reactivate your github account and fix stuff yourself...

Well, I just like old FA Ui much more then vanilla Ui.

Btw locations are shown wrongly in dungeon only mode, wilderness seems OK.

I agree that the gcu mode looks horrible - I think there are at least .prf file issues there.

Seriously, if there's stuff you don't like it is probably there because I overlooked it or didn't get around to changing it. I did a huge amount of change to the code, and toward the end I really just wanted to get it working again. Any changes you might make would probably be changes I wanted anyway.

            OK, I'll chase that up.

              Hi Knick.

Just a quick request, and sorry if you already added it but the keys are different.

Is there any chance of the list onscreen monsters and list onscreen items commands from vanilla making it into faangband? I really like these options and use them a lot, and actually miss them in Fa.

Of course, if they've been added but use different keys to the default brackets (I noticed left bracket was repeat count), fair enough.

if not, perhaps they could be stuck in, even if they need to be slightly altered to fit with fa layout, eg, left and right brace (shift and brackets), instead of using the brackets themselves.

sorry if this is a pain or if I just missed it.

Ctrl-I is for items, don't remember monsters, but it's there somewhere.

Monsters is '[' - '0' should be the repeat count.

Something I meant to mention before - there is now support for Nomad's tiles, but the actual allocations are patchy. I think I mostly did terrain and objects, but monsters are ... incomplete. Any progress gratefully received.

EDIT: Actually, it all looks incomplete. Go me.

Thanks, glad the list commands are in, that will make fa a lot more friendly to play.

                        FAangband 1.2.2

Some things I've noticed in 1.2.2 - playing on a MacBook Air with OS X 10.6.8.
                        • Gold for my new character seems to always be at zero, and when I spend and then unspend attribute points the value doesn't change. Economy must be getting *real* bad if it's come to this in FAangband :-(
                        • When near a map edge you can't see it unless you're right next to it - night or day. For example: I'm two squares from the map edge and it's day, but I can't see the map edge - only the square next to the one I am occupying. By 'see' I mean it's unmapped black. This is true for all graphics modes and ASCII. This happens in wilderness, not towns. (Haven't been into a dungeon yet).
                        • Do you know why the main window always goes up and 'under' the Mac menu bar on the second and all subsequent launches? To be honest, it doesn't bother me when I'm playing with glass of Scotch; though I should be asking myself why it bothers me as much as it does.

This is nice! I haven't hit a dungeon yet, but it's really feeling solid now.

Yeah, I haven't got starting gear/gold nailed down properly yet.

OK, thanks - I have changed the way wilderness is illuminated, and need to fix that.

No, I don't. All the front ends, including Mac, are exactly as in V3.2, so blame the V devteam I will put in a fix when I know of one.

Great. Keep the bugs coming; they will get fixed at some point.

You're not very likely to find a dungeon accidentally (any time soon). Use the mini map provided in the main directory to speed the process if you're not already familiar with FA.

Oh - that reminded me of something else I've noticed about the Mac builds: the map found in the Windows build is not in the Mac build. Not a big issue - I have it from when I was using a Windows laptop for a while.
