One quick bug report I haven't seen posted allready (latest 0.3.0 windows-precompiled on XP) : I just equipped a ring of resist cold and my cold resistance dropped to -36 % (from 0). I got it at the magic store for a 50% discount; an amulet of resist acid I bought at the same time (with the same discount) seems to work fine.

Minor bug: It seems you can fire arrows normally even when confused. Very handy, but it feels a bit like cheating .Comment

Whhoooo .. FAangband is the first rougelike where you get a refund !!
If that only where true as well for staves, wands and artefacts which are not activating in critical situations, or scrolls that burn up all to easy, or potions which shatter without any real cause (their bottle must have been defective ) ...No, I don't have a clue 'bout C, and I'm not starting my own variant.

There is a known issue where the windows port registers a crash on closing the game - I haven't been able to work out why, but the only obvious effect is to pop up an error window. The game still saves fine. I suspect it's a font issue of some sort, and I'm inclined to blame Vista...Comment

I'll probably do another code update before releasing 0.3.1 (if I understand properly V3.1.0 should be out soon, and so I'll try and sync with that), and with luck the problem will go away then. It doesn't seem to have any bad effect apart from bringing up a dialog, and if you're running Vista you'll be used to that
I'll be interested to hear your opinions on gameplay changes, too.One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne

I'm still getting used to a new keyboard... first char died this morning trying to take the stairs he was standing on but ended up running towards a sabre-toothed tiger... I guess I hit '.' followed by an up arrow or something.Comment

Hmm, you're not going to like this but 0.3.0 seems to be crashing on Windows XP too. I fired it up on my parents' PC over the holidays and the first game crashed almost immediately on leaving Ossiriand to the west (I think one keypress - probably a '4' after moving to the new area).
It was a new char roll-up (Longbeard Necro, CL12ish, no ego-equipment yet) so I'm not sure what would have caused the crash. If I reproduce anything similar, I'll try to get a dump of the techie details if that helps...Comment

Nick - gameplay change $0.02:
Extra damage dice for Druids - nice, makes them playable without overpowering them.
Resists - interesting but tricky - it could just be a couple of unlucky chars but getting the four base resists seem a lot tougher than it was. This probably impacts more on the classes without resist spells. On the upside, there's a better chance of getting random high resists than before...
UI - it does take a long time to get used to the new store keys - I still press 'p' and 's' by default - I'm sure that I'll eventually get used to it, mind...
One other very minor buglet, now that I think of it - I never noticed before using a PC with the sound locked on but a lot more supposedly illegal actions set off the warning beep in 0.3.0 than in 0.2.3. For example, each keypress to scroll the world map seems to set off that beep on XP...
Nevertheless, onwards and upwards. Ta for all the work on FAA as always.Comment

Now I'm not sure if I'm getting confused with the old mouse inventory screen, but when I listed my inventory it used to show me how many slots were used up by my quiver and how much ammo was in each slot. This was really useful to know how much more I could put in my quiver without losing a slot or how much ammo I had to drop to free a slot. It doesn't tell me any of this when I enter 'i' in v030 at least.
