Ahum. An apparition of hunger just dropped rations. This bugs me.

Probably they keep some stolen food for future use.

On another note : is it logical (if such a thing exists) that i can do shield bashes while polymorphed?
And god bless you for dragon scale mails, i don't fear trap doors anymore (and dragons don't fly over lava? odd.)

Just FWIW, FAAngband 1.1.5 cannot create ~/.angband on its own and will crash on start if the directory is not present...

              Code:
./faangband: Cannot create the '/home/proteus//.angband/FAangband/scores/scores.raw' file!
./faangband: The 'lib' directory is probably missing or broken.
./faangband: Perhaps the archive was not extracted correctly.
./faangband: See the 'README' file for more information.
              ./faangband: Fatal Error.
Also, there is apparently no README file.

Additionally, Cheat Death renders the player symbol invisible upon resurrection. Oops.

Edit: My bad, it doesn't render it invisible; it just puts it way off the screen where it can't move or be seen. No idea how that happens.

Also, the spell learning dialog will crash sometimes. (At least in SDL mode and with Druids.) Hmm.

                        Unlight

I started an HE rogue. Due to early find of light crossbow of accuracy I play as an archer. Melee is not usable yet.

As my first specialty I chose unlight because everybody seems to prefer it. I have read the description but it doesn't seem to fit my needs. It is supposed to be used at night and in dungeons but that is not suitable for ranged combat because I cannot use light sources so visibility is very limited.

Have I missed something? Why it is so popular?

                        Thanks a lot ...

Unlight reduces damage in the dark, gives you intrinsic rDark and makes you very stealthy as well as the obvious benefit of not needing a light source. Admittedly it won't help so much as an archer until you have telepathy.

I didn't have Unlight with my first hobbit Rogue winner, but I'm using now with my high Elf Rogue. I think that the extra stealth and rDark help out a lot. No more worrying about dark hounds or running out of torches.I think that you can win with out it but it is nice. Especially when you are low level and have to avoid stuff.

I can understand there are some benefits to Unlight in the early game (at least), but I tend to shy away from it after one of my Unlight characters found Ringil (which has intrinsic light).

Ah, thats what I was going to ask. Many weapons increase light radius. Does this interfere with unlight?
