I keep running into trouble on the way to the first dungeon with getting constantly hit with a lot of confusion and blindness. Any tips?

Here is the latest thread about it, which also references older threads. Don't hold your breath

    I blame you.

I'm getting crashes occasionally when a monster triggers my explosion traps in Nan Dungortheb, but I'm not sure what specifically causes it.

So I'm going to operate on the assumption that the quiver is like the inventory rather than like the equipment for the player learning runes; I think the current situation is a hangover from the days when you had to wield items to put them in the quiver. I'll make this change in V as well.

I doubt that is meant to happen.
So this happened when you inscribed it for throwing?

"Your longbow of Accuracy feels very accurate. You have 9 Rounded pebbles."

Probably not meant to trigger for throwing.

    Player traps:

Being told you can't set a trap consumes a turn.
Earthquaked and destructed traps still count to your limit.
Poison and ball effects hit the player. Actually fun and reasonable, maybe not consistent with mages and devices.

You can confirm the squelching hypothesis by pressing K, which toggles unignoring. Any squelched objects on the floor should be visible with unignoring on.

The behavior isn't limited to maze levels, you've probably just happened to generate more junk there. Either that, or there's something about maze levels that makes you notice it more often when it happens there.

it has to be squelch then.....there is no monster , this is happening as soon as my torchlight should illuminate the object but disappears instead. Still I guess this is pre-set squelching by default as i have made no adjustments to the game myself. Still why am I noticing this primarily on only maze levels?
