Here's another one: enemies who can heal themselves. Especially with "monsters learn from their own mistakes" now defaults to on, it feels like the healers spam their healing spells like crazy. It is really frustrating and annoying, especially if you've got them almost dead. Personally, I would like to see one of:

      1. Monsters are given a proper mana pool rather than just probabilities, so at least if they heal, my efforts over the past few turns aren't completely erased.
      2. Healing spells are removed completely from monsters and their health is bumped to compensate (my preference).
      3. Their AI when "learn from their mistakes" is on is tweaked so that the chances of them healing themselves isn't increased by their learning (unless of course, that's already the case and I've just been getting really unlucky recently).

I have not tried this option yet.

You are not making me want to.

Yeah, I usually turn it off, but I recently had to reinstall my OS, and so had a fresh install of Angband and forgot to turn it off now that its the default.

Its pretty terrible. Enemies spam their best spells, including their healing spells over and over again, so you run away even more than you did before, and burn through way more consumables. REALLY brutal playing low stealth characters without access to the town.

That item you were looking for on the 3-7 level is
            Metal Lamellar Armour (-3) [58.+3]
when you're a kobold necromancer with about 3.5 lb.s of space left to carry

I have never been hungry enough to eat an Elvish Honey Cake.

None of my characters even know what they taste like.

              Not even the elven ones.

What are you talking about? Elvish Waybread I understand. The Honey Cakes are Beorning.

Oops. I told you I had no idea.

Actually, right after I posted that, Bumblef*ck (cl39 hobbit Rogue) found a ring that when Activated restores Strength and Con, but makes him vomit. So I finally bought a Waybread... it was anticlimactic.

Generally, few of my characters carry food anyway. Once they get Slow Digestion, it's a waste of valuable inventory space.

Shouldn't killing zombies be a good thing?

Being swarmed by Red-Hatted elves and fleeing to the dungeon and back 3 times before a new @ is kitted out.

                              Seriously though, that's pretty great.
