    I don't know if it's a side effect of the changes to searching for the new trap system, but I'm seeing weapons and armour in nearby squares sometimes get auto-squelched without me needing to stand directly on top of them. (Not sure I'd count this as a bug even if unintentional, it seems kinda neat and quite reasonable, actually.)

    Incidentally, after playtesting the latest nightly for a bit the way traps work now seems fairly well-balanced to me. I do feel like it's an improvement that I now occasionally trigger completely unanticipated teleport traps or trapdoors, which is a risk that was missing from the previous system, and it doesn't really seem like I'm falling into unseen traps enough for it to be annoying/frustrating. (Though I've been playing warriors, so more fragile classes may have a different perspective.)

    I feel like the bonuses on Rings of Searching could maybe stand to be beefed up a bit, though. The Amulets of Searching I've found have given as much as +6 to searching, which is worth considering (especially since it's a less contested equipment slot anyway), but I've never found a ring with a bonus higher than +1 before the point where I just start squelching them because I've already got some more useful rings.

    I drank an unknown potion that turned out to be !slowness but there was no malus to speed (@ was already at -2 speed due to burden).

    Yes - that was included as a substitute for the removal of Detect Traps, Doors and Stairs, which has now been restored.

    Whatever happened to arrows of slay giant? Did they disappear and I never noticed? (Even when they existed, I always found it a funny, though totally understandable quirk, that they worked on every form of giant except the giant Morgoth.)

    In the category of bizarre and deeply trivial bugs: if you have a Wooden Torch that's not fully identified (due to having an unknown curse), the Inspect screen will show the line "Refills other lanterns up to 15000 turns of fuel." from the Lantern description. Standard non-cursed Wooden Torches don't have this, and if you fully ID the Torch by identifying the curse, it goes away.

    (Also, while I was pondering how the hell you'd even generate a cursed torch to recreate this, it occurred to me that with the new curse system we really ought to have some more negative scrolls that put curses on your equipment - bring back Curse Armour and Curse Weapon, and add another one for lights/jewellery as well - and possibly even monsters with the ability to do so as an attack.)
    Thanks - bug is probably due to bad assumptions about curses being made in the description code.

    Scrolls for cursing are probably no fun - it's just a one-shot per game, and discouraging to ID by use. Better are monsters (as you point out) and traps
