For Adunaphel and some other wall passing nasties I usually leave the level (if I am not able to kill them - which is quite possible with enough speed, a good bow, and some arrows of slay undead). They are very dangerous and extremely quick. Adunaphel or things like a death dragon may follow you through half the level if you teleport them away.

When it is important, you should target the monster rather than using a direction. If the monster is in a wall, the game will not let you target it.

Point of order: can you hit it if the bolt/beam hits the wall where the critter is?

so any1 know what happened? i have a feeling she might have been in a wall at the time... so was that why my wand didnt work?

Yes, that would have been it. To make it worse, they can cast at you from in a wall.

tell me about it i have the same problem. im still trying 2 get over my old habbits from Playstation rpgs where you kill everything you meet lol

just lost a lvl 28 @ 2200 feet down 2 Adunaphel the Quite not 100% sure about what happened... tried my wand of teleport other it used a charge but did not send her away... so i tried a 2nd time and again it used a charge but did not send her away and thats when her nether bolt finished me off

so any1 know what happened? i have a feeling she might have been in a wall at the time... so was that why my wand didnt work?

i know arrows wont go in2 a wall that a monster is in(but swords do) but why not magic(her magic came out the wall)

lol im sure most of us feel inferior 2 PowerDiver

but its a good tip on how you should feel in the dungeon!
i find the more confident i feel the faster i die lol so feeling inferior is good for your @

so true. im still in what i call scout mode, just trying 2 get as deep as i can each game 2 learn about all the new monsters i have never seen. i still only know 73 of the uniques. but learning more with each new @

@ magnate... yes i sumtimes do dive a bit 2 fast and die but i learn new things about new monsters each time and i must confess that my best @ got so deep so fast because of 2 lucky finds, boots of speet +8 at 1800 feet and just a few mins later i killed the queen ant 1950 feet down and she dropped Ringil!!! (yes i know i will never get that lucky again and may never see ringil again)

@ nick LMAO thats great and how i try 2 play.... but still get the odd case of kill fever followed by the words you die. lol
