Honestly, I generally buy Woven themes for two purposes. One, I already have song of Slaying and song of Sharpness, and singing song of slaying in the throneroom with an herb of rage is hilarious, or two, I'm singing song of Lorien, but also song of Silence so they don't get up right after falling asleep. In both cases I am using a prerequisite. I can imagine wanting to sing two of Freedom, Trees and Elbereth, or possibly Staying and Este for survival, but I never do so myself. Perhaps the nerf is worthwhile.

I'm a little surprised at the woven themes nerf honestly, it seems like the major problem of the Song tree is that you can only sing one song at once so it's hard to want to buy a lot of songs. I don't usually play singers (just drop a bunch of XP near the endgame for the mandatory Song of Sharpness) but in theory Woven Themes should help with that issue.

    That's right.

Yes, my guess is that shortbows are still the best bows for dedicated archers.

Not that I'm complaining, I find the new longbows to be nicely powerful. But plain old shortbows will likely now be relegated to the junk pile with filthy rags, robes, quarterstaves (sorry, Little John), and broken swords.
Well, they're like shortswords, right? Shortbows and longbows are almost identical to shortswords and longswords in terms of stats. There are a lot of characters who don't want a shortsword but some characters do.

Finally something better to make with my third forge charge than a ring of hunger!

Here is one bugfix that you might want to include in 1.2.1.

Love following this game. Any thoughts on the eventual possibility of online play and/or tiles?

Very cool. Thanks, half and Scatha. I noticed a few changes to Smithing that didn't make the change log - horns are now available and the costs for mithril items are now much lower (thanks for that one!).

I've been working on a build for a couple months in 1.1 and have never won with it. I guess I'll have no shot in 1.2, but I'll give it a shot!

Just loaded it up, looks good so far though a few of the changes make me sad...If you haven't, you might want to make arrows' native depth 50' as well. Found a shortbow at 50', which was one thing...But if the idea is to make archers easier to start, an archer cannot fire with bow alone.

OK, I've got rid of the first of these messages for autopickup things (thrown items and fired arrows).

Can I stop orc warriors from charging by slowing them with potions of slowness? If so, new elite tech
I just checked and yes you can.

Ctrl-T and wieldless digging are AMAZING
Thanks! They both took quite a bit of thought to get right. For the latter I believe I have mpa-sil and the IRC channel to thank.
