I've emailed Pav about this. Max depth isn't showing up either, and character names are messed up.

So have I. I'm sure he's feeling very loved

Um .. not to complain or anything (no, really!), but is there a vaguely simple way to pull the source? When I click on the "source" option on the rephial page, it sends me to github. No doubt I could install the Git tool set, and read all the documentation, and eventually figure out how to pull top-of-trunk, but it seems like an awful lot of trouble. Can someone point me to a "how-to" guide? Or maybe a tar file or something? I run on Linux and so need to build it myself.

There's a 'zip' download button on the top panel on the GitHub page.

Also, it's not that difficult to get the git source - it's as simple as "git clone git://github.com/angband/angband.git".

Just don't try to edit the source without creating a "local branch". You will get very confused when editing directly in "Master".

Indeed there is, and it works like a champ. I am now up and running. Thanks!

It seems some on the competition ladder have what appears to be a 'dirty' version of 3.5? Is this the sollution to the turncount situation? Or what is going on with that?

                  Forgot how proper diving works!

This game is reminding me. Found
                  b) a Sling of Extra Shots (x2) (+6,+6) <+1>
Found lying on the floor at 50 feet (level 1).

very early, and it was off to the races. Rapier (Defender) at 2800' covers the rest of the bases.
Still can't do very good damage, so I'm going through random wands and Iron shot at ferocious pace. Blue DSM helps for occasional big damage too. I end up having to recall a lot to escape dangerous levels.

                    Bug report:
                    • Flasks of whisky should be
                      Code:
                      N:14:Flask~ of Whisky
                      not
                      Code:
                      N:14:[COLOR="Red"]&[/COLOR] Flask~ of Whisky
                    • Monsters should be able to push past no-move monsters, always. I got helped by a shimmering mold that kept Angamite blocked from a maze level.
                    • Annoying when inventory/equipment screen flashes when shooting. The select menu already covers this.

                    Edit: added bullet 3.

It's a technical thing to do with how that copy of the game (in this case, the Mac Carbon port) was built. I believe this time it's because there were a number of unsuccessful builds before a successful one.

Is there any appreciable difference between the versions of 3.5? As far as the competition is concerned.

No. And the version (last night's build) you have is up to date with bug fixes.
