Everything in DaJ is quoted in time rather than game turns - I think that means 5 hours 33 minutes of light left.
That is correct.
Just today, I found a bug which can be nasty, but it has a workaround:
The bug happens when monsters which come back to life, try to come back on top of the PC (your character). If a monster comes back to life on top of your character, the nasty bug happens: your character will dissapear behind the monster that came back to life, you won't be able to move, and monsters can't attack you*. It'll still let you take actions, but teleporting doesn't work. You have gone into limbo.
If this happens, there is a workaround: If you recall or teleport level, you won't be in limbo anymore and things will go back to normal. Sorry about losing any valuables on that level.
DO NOT save and exit while your character is in limbo because that will kill your savefile and you won't be able to load it again ("cannot place monster #X"). I just lost a game this way.
I'm pretty sure the bug only happens if you are in the same space the ressurrecting monster was in when it died AND it can't find another nearby space to put the monster (and it doesn't reliably happen even then), so you can probably avoid having it happen in the first place.
I might get around to posting an update with the fix in the next week or two, but since I finally have a RL job, there's a good chance I won't get around to it.
I hope this doesn't keep people from trying the competition.
PS: Hey look, Matthias has already found Cubragol
*Monster can't melee you when you're in limbo. I couldn't get the bug to happen again to test if they can still cast or breathe on you or not.
So, perhaps it is a dumb question, but I noticed the game starts with roguelike keys on. I don't like this so naturally I turn it off. However, when inside stores, hitting 'b' only tries to look at a spell book, and hitting 'p' once selects the object with the letter 'p' in front, and hitting 'p' again asks me to buy that item. I don't want to buy a javelin, or anything else that is in that slot, any fix? Save/reload didn't help, nor did going out of town and back up again.
*EDIT*
I'm dumb, hit enter. *Sigh* Keeping my old post intact so everyone can get a chuckle. (I can tell I'm going to go far in this comp!)
Found a minor bug with monster companions (I think). First I had white worm masses as one of the monsters in an orc pit, then I had 12 scruffy looking hobbits as one of the companions of the Queen Ant and just recently I had 12 green frogs as the companions of Wulf, Renegade of Rohan.
If anyone out there wants to do this competition and like me prefers to use the graphical version send me a message. I've taken a stab at updating the pref file for the graphics. I'm about half way done (through monster #500!). Not every monster maps so you'll get some ascii characters and there are a few duplicates so you'll need to keep an eye on your monster list. I hope to finish up this weekend but I may not get back to finishing until Monday or so.
It's not perfect but it's better than it was when no monster mapped correctly and I was attacking novice warriors that looked like black ants....
Also will_asher, if you want my pref file to include in future versions let me know. I'm not sure if you planned on updating it or not but if you were it would probably be quicker to start with mine than from scratch. I am leaving comments where I'm not mapping a monster and if I feel inspired may go back and try to grab some of them from the TOME graphics and put them into the angband .bmp.

This can also happen if they try to come back on other monsters. I just had a non-existing lesser reaver and novice warrior casting spells/attacking me while cleaning up a lesser vault.

That's weird, I wonder why I haven't seen that bug.
@paboperfecto: I already had graphics tiles for the normal tiles set up to work correctly. Do you mean the 32x32 tiles? If so, Buzzkill has gotten a decent start on those.
If your talking about the original tileset, did it not work correctly already?
Hmmm there seems to be a problem with the monster generation. That or the RNG really wants my guy to survive. I am down to 3500 and the last levels all had a very peacefull monster feeling. After not finding any wyrms to kill I just checked the entire monster listing and I haven't seen a single monster or unique with a native level deeper than 2500. Have seen a lot of 2400-2500 stuff but exactly 0 from deeper down. And that's after more than 20 floors where I detected several times and with telepathy.
I'm sorry, when I submitted the competition savefile, I was hoping I finally had a release with no major bugs. I was encouraged when there had been no bug reports since the release of 1.2.0. <repeated headdesking>
I'm looking at the code and I can't fathom why this is happening, and I don't have time to spend a long time looking (like I often have to do to find the cause of a bug).

32x32. Didn't see anything so didn't know if anyone was working it.
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.
It includes the .prf as well as an updated .bmp with lots of new graphics.
