    I had 300AC once but I didn't keep the setup. Part of how I got that high is I had a cursed item that gave extra AC at the cost of a vulnerability, I think, but the vulnerability I had an immunity for. It was awhile ago not sure if I could find the character dump or what not.

    not great W/L% here as i lost a dozen mages before DL3, but once i got to CL9 it's pretty much done unless you're foolhardy.

    No diving - i reached CL29 on DL26
    Once i had 0% TO and ESP i went down to look for Kelek, and then cleared up all the uniques. *ALL* the uniques. I think only Maggot remained, along with one of the unique Men who (poor guy) got summoned by Morgoth in the final fight.
    Oh and 16 Rods of Healing.

    NOTE: i found a ring of power that activated for !Enlight, which i was *supposed* to swap out before the final fight, but i never did. Didn't need to, but could have probably added a RoS +12 in its place.

    In order to see where treasure/objects were without having monster symbols getting in the way I removed my helm of telepathy.     Inscribing an item with ‘=g’:
    This marks an item as ‘always pick up’. This is sometimes useful for picking up ammunition after a shootout. If there is a number immediately after the ‘g’, then the amount picked up automatically will be limited. If you have inscribed a spellbook with ‘=g4’ and have four or more copies in your pack, you will not automatically pick up any more copies when you have the ‘pickup if in inventory’ option enabled. If you have three copies in your pack with that inscription and happen to find a pile of two copies, you’ll automatically pick up one so there are four in the pack. this does not work at least for daggers.

    Maybe not, but it's a workaround for playing two different versions of the game concurrently. And the issue would be the same in Linux for anyone who installs. Windows escapes because that front end uses a whole different directory for each instance of the game.

    I guess in hindsight the thing would have been to include the version in the lore file. Maybe for 4.3.

    Would it be sufficiently easy a matter to multiply @ health by 2/3 in 4.1.3 ?

    This way the difficulty gets increased without the 1-room level feeling of 4.2.
