Attempting to clear a medium vault and I got everything but one creep... an eye in the center and, with only 230 Hp, I'm too scared that I cant close the gap before it blasts me to bits before I get to a pillar for cover. No TO. Screw it, quaff a speed pot and step in, summons a Dracolich. PD puts me back in LOS from another opening, another Dracolich. AMD off screen that I kited away earlier is back, breaths off screen, staff of TS gone. Take one step to get around the corner. The two Dracolich are in the corridor behind and the AMD is coming up fast. Kill a wraith and OFG, *Destruction*. Quick check, yep 12 squares away. The AMD, both Dracolich, and the eye gone!

Boots of speed +10. Worth.

It's not harmful--just make sure the directory browser is in the correct location. It's not a new issue.

I really don't wanna delete vanilla.

And OS is W10.

If you have two copies installed, the save file open will sometimes show the wrong directory.

I'm not getting saves on the nightlies. Its showing my vanilla saves but after I save a game on the patch it just disappears. Makes it kinda hard to playtest.

That is odd. What operating system? If windows, are you using a complete new folder? There are some issues with the latest build, but I wouldn't have expected this to be one of them.

Playing a hobbit rogue is terrifying. WOR got burned up and I'm -5 speed way OOD.

Like I said I'll take a hit of 10 speed for a +15 damage ring when base is still +27 and self haste making it 37. I'm still fast as f boi.

Bit deceptive. what you really want to know is how much speed to be able to take a round of hits & be able to heal & then escape or have a turn to deal damage.

I mean, more speed does make you better at things -- the difference between +40 speed and +30 speed is getting about 10% more stuff done per unit of "real time", which means that fights won't last as long, monsters will have fewer opportunities to summon nasties, force you to use consumables, etc.

But yeah, speed starts to wane in comparison to other equipment benefits once monsters are no longer able to double-turn you.

The only monster I'm worried about atm is Sauron and with haste I'm even with him in speed.

Just downloaded the new patch with trap adjustments. More exciting to me atm than same old same old stuff. So DAR will be for that @.

Hitting a TON of trap doors.

On an unrelated note my 2 yo just pulled out my x, h, space bar, and ; keys.... flm its hard to type.

So unless you are getting a very large boost from just a couple of items... say ROS +15 and boots of Feanor..... its really not worth the slot.

So at normal speed, you get 10 energy/turn, at +1 speed, you get 11 (10% faster than normal), at +10 you get 20/turn (100% faster), at +20 you get 30 (200% faster), etc. You need 100 energy to take a turn, and most actions cost 100 energy to perform -- the most notable exception being firing a missile launcher when you have more than 1 shot/turn. Note the two 36s and then two 37s in the high 20s of speed.
