If you're looking for quests, the next dungeon to head for is Mirkwood - that'll give you another 23 levels of potential quests. The Maze is infuriating but probably the right level for you as long as you don't dive too quickly (not that it's easy to dive there).
Alternatively, the Orc Caves are a few squares north of Bree and are about the right level, too (spoiler: if you get to a special level there, don't leave until you're confident you've picked up all the objects lying around - bring Detect Doors scrolls!).

Rod of Simplicity makes the activations easier -- very useful if you have low Magic Device for some reason. Rod of the Istari bascially encompasses a few of the other modifiers such as extra capacity, faster recharging, cheaper and faster casting.
