Despite all that, I felt that this Menoo had some promise. I had been putting many points into wisdom so I could build SP to heal myself, since I was a weak fighter. For that same reason I embraced rather than uncursed the ring of teleportation. My death, while disappointing, was probably just a predictor of the inevitable. I fell into (discovered) a poisoned spiked pit. Since I wanted the path open for possible retreat, I attempted to disarm it. I fell into it (again), this time for 32 damage + poison = instadeath. I didn't realize that pit traps were that deadly. If I only had a turn to function, I could have healed myself.
