Biggest bugbear for me is lack of -TA and to a lesser degree _BanishEvil. I don't want to have to scum for these, but without them I can't deal with the likes of Storms of Unmagic and Gothmog that start awake - and if they are in a vault I can't even destruct them (if I had a source of that...).

I've only found one -TA all game (and no rods) and two -StMs (though thankfully I've now found the Rod of Delving). I'm tempted to add TA and StM to the list of good objects in kind_is_good in object2.c to see if that helps - any reason not to, or why that wouldn't work?

I've now got a number of artifact set items, but no luck in completing any yet...

Unfortunately not having another means to protect my stats, I had to ditch my PDSM for the final fight for my Robe of Permanance.

The final fight was *dull*. Morgoth only managed to break one RoP whilst I hacked away at him, doing around 142 dam/blow (according to 'I' - though I doubt this also includes bonuses for Mana Burn) when fully buffed.

I don't think a 2d9 *Slay Evil* weapon is unbalancing because you can potentially find 2d14 Battle Axes of *Slay Evil*, so I don't want to tone that down.

I was certainly lucky with Morgoth failing to break the RoPs (in the past I have quickly gone through these). Morgoth being slower in recent versions of FA will also have had an effect. It feels like there is also a preference for most monsters to melee when they are adjacent (though I can't see anything to that effect in the code so it probably isn't true) which also helped me as he spent more time trying to break runes when it would have been better for him to have summoned on me or mana stormed etc. I may again have just got lucky with the 1-in-3 rolls for ranged attacks.

I think I need to make it more likely still for Morgoth to break runes and maybe that will be enough. Thoughts anyone?

I have made a lot of changes to randart generation since I started this game, so I look forward to seeing how that plays out in future games. At some point it would also be nice if someone wanted to test some of my changes to see if they are worth implementing for real...
