Early find of a rod of perception has been absolutely key - have lost many other promising chars to !Death, !Ruination and _Summoning. The Elvenkind armour is awesome and just look at that sword! Shame about the vulnerabilities but it slays dragons and is acid and elec branded.

Could really do with Blood Novitiate for Slip into the Shadows and some way of healing. The robe is a very nice swap for taking Death Quasits out (which is what just dropped my sword).

First ring of power and it has telepathy - what a result as I didn't want to lose either that or my only source of speed! Also fire immunity and +3 to Con. Sweet!

Plus I've found my first !Augmentation which takes me to four blows - no sign of !*Dex* yet though.

In answer to your points, at the moment I don't think thralls should start with a rod of perception - don't want to make it to easy! Though I am open to my mind being changed. If they weren't quite so rare it would be good though!

One of the strangest randarts I saw was an iron crown [0,-17] (+1) {cursed} which had +1 to all stats and some great resists.
