You need to be carrying scrolls/staves of object detection, staves of detect evil and scrolls of detect invisible. Use the object detection to find the good stuff on the floor. It's rare at any depth that you will be killing on-level baddies, so the only way to get on level gear/potions/etc. is to pick it up off the floor. rPoison is not that important; ignore the newbie guide and dive. Use your door and stair location and take every down staircase and don't stop that until you get to at least 3850', where snagas will drop stat potions and rings of speed will be on the floor. Lastly, lose the dragon armor. It's too heavy, and AC is not important at all.

Even without more con, you've got enough HPs to take a breath from anything in the game. I would wield Gurthang and get down to 4900 as quickly as possible, then start taking out wyrms.
