Found some decent equipment. Holcolleth is particularly useful, although perhaps not as powerful as I initially expected. +2 speed doesn't amount to too much. The +2 Int is probably more valuable to me.

The whip of extra attacks is the best weapon I've found so far, but really I need to get something a little more potent, or a couple of rings of damage.

Stat gain next on agenda.

Taking on uniques one at a time, using Mass Banishment from Eonwe and rods of Teleport Other to tackle tough foes on my terms.

Maeglin was a tough, but profitable fight. He summoned half a dozen uniques (all teleported away against their will).

When he perished he dropped Gondor, Fingolfin and a Shield of Preservation. All of which are now equiped.

Other uniques haven't been as kind. Atlas dropped goods only.

Is Eonwe good enough to travel Morgy with? I haven't taken him before, is this character strong enough?

Carry some form of destruction. Sometimes you want to eradicate an undead
pit or a pack of hounds. I recommend at least two staves of destruction.
You should also carry a stack of staves of dispel evil, not because you need
them, but because it is oh so fun to let loose in a dragon pit with immunity.
