This is a new class for me, and initially I was wondering how on earth anyone was going to survive getting anything powerful, so I played as a weak warrior for the most part.

Novice Mages gave me my first spell, Magic Missile (2D6 + 8), which became a good staple for the early levels. Next, the Druid in the Arena provided Fire Bolt (failed to learn Frost Bolt and Lightning Bolt :/).

But the Sewer Quest, and in particular the Undead Devilfish, provided a huge arsenal (though mostly too high fail to use for now), including Breath Time, Breath Disenchantment, Breath Light, and Breath Darkness. I basically sat there and let it continue breathing at me until I ran out of food. Sadly, I did not pick up Breath Sound or Breath Chaos, but oh well. I don't remember too many things that resist both Light and Dark anyways, other than Ethereal Dragons.

Granted, that's pretty decent damage to SP ratio, but it's a bit lacking in firepower as far as I'm concerned. Probably useful only for secondary effects (i.e. Sound for Stun, Gravity for PhaseDooring the opponents).

Actually, with this, I'm tempted to deviate from my standard rush into the Vault, since my current weapon will last for a while, and is probably better than Sting until I find a Helm of the Magi or something similar.

AC is piddly, and no RoDamage in sight. Hm.. dare I wander into the Castle in hopes of trying to pick up Mana Bolt from DE Warlocks?

Went into Killing Fields after successfully clearing Vault, since I had earlier bought Wand of TeleportOther, and started to clear the Warriors of Dawn, except I was trying to manually disarm the traps.. and fail on a summoning rune, which promptly bring Horamirth of Dir, a Vampire Lord, a Master Lich, and a Spirit Troll. >_<

I teleport and kill another couple Warriors to hit clvl 28 before leaving the level. I have no doubts on those monster's current ability to quickly kill me if ever I wander into their LoS.

Healing/Defensive Magic:

Blue-Mage: Summoning, Teleport-To, Hand of Doom.
Magic-Eater: Destruction, Speed, Enlightenment, Detection, Animate Dead.

Trading Healing and Destruction and Speed for Summoning seems like a really bad deal to me :/
