I have also been playing a lot of Android's lately (facinated with level progression, I guess), and this one started fairly normally - rushing till a good drop or dead. I got some elvinkind armour which jumped her bout 20 levels. Also trying Sexy personality for the first time. Found quests a little harder now that I can't sneak around. Big plusses of weaponsmiths : gauntlets of slaying anytime. Before I found those genji gauntlets (yes!), I had gauntlets of slaying and agility. The +1 attack pattern weapon did me quite well before sting showed up. Another bonus is being able to add an extra resist here and there. I have an extra lightning resist & levitation floating around. I'm waiting for electrical immunity to show up so I can tack it onto something. Good finds so far have been in the armour shop - both Gengi and boots were found in there for cheap (luckily it came at a point in the game where cash isn't really an issue anymore). Also found the phial in the chameleon pits - so I went ahead with the dark elven lords quest - and found the stone of lore in there. My polymorph reward was berserk, and the logrus master was kind enough to give me another pair of legs till I accidently killed him in my hallucinations.

So far nothing's shown up I can't melee, but i'm kinda worried what I'm going to have to carry with me when I start hitting the depths.

Sexy takes a little getting used to, but it's not hard after you learn.

I'm a bit confused about end-game gear though.. do Weaponsmiths just play like gimped warriors? IIRC, you can't boots Rings or Amulets, right? And other than Ego Gloves of Genji or Diamond Edge of Force or Falcon Sword of Westernesse, I'm not really seeing many potential end-game custom gear..

I checked out some of the Hengband weaponsmiths, and it looks like its definatly a doable class.
I forgot to mention some early faux pas' - I sold an unID'd !oStrength, and almost starved in the tengu & death swords quest - I had to quaff a !oHealing to make it back to the store.

Found stormbringer a little earlier. I like the vampirism and slay human. Found a randart that does slightly more damage normally, slays evil and is frostbranded, but no vampirism. I'm at a tossup.

Oh, and another note : I found Bull Gates in the dungeon and killed him - then went into the quest and ! Look! he's back, like I never killed him at all.

I went through 3 !oLife and about 10 !o*Healing* or so beating the serpent, which was all of my reserves (I still had 50 !ohealing left though).

After The serpent dropped, I teled away, and quickly found myself with the perfect vantage point of the Chemist and Unicorn duking it out! Of course, I got gready, and dug a little tunnel so I could get closer, and then I was hit by a disentegration blast and there was no more rock seperating me, the Chemist, and the Unicorn.

So, I cut it loose. Maybe my next char will try for the Chemist & beyond.
