My good luck with the Angand level 24 encounter continues, as Minstrel got Albrecht. Albrecht was actually a pain in the ass with his stealing and summoning, plus his disenchanting left Minstrel's armor a sad shadow of its former rather nice self. That having been said, I'm still quite pleased not to have run into Gachapin.

The original plan was to go with an elven Bard (two very poorly represented race/class options on the ladders that actually work nicely together), but they kept dying early. Finally, I decided to go with a Dunedain for variety, and wouldn't you know it? The first one actually gets some traction. So, I'm a bit disappointed its not an elf, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Two places I find Goemon are L33 in the Castle, and the wilderness square where the entrance to the Dragon's Lair is. Never figured out how to make him appear, though :-(

For example, one of the Bard spells is, hmm, can't recall the name, but effectively gives you legendary(32) stealth while you're playing it. Makes the Vault quest a lot easier. If you're a "sexy" character, you have to actually fight your way through. To me, aggravation is almost never worth it.

Goemon drops Zantetsuken plus a couple other "good" items. He's like Uvatha in ToME.
