My first attempt at a Summoner. I'm a big fan of high dex chars that can steal items to give them an early boost, so I tried that here and had some serious luck. I was most impressed :)

As a TOME/Theme newbie I was quite happy with how this character progressed, but I'm disappointed in the way it died. An OOD enemy (lots of blood sprouts) that didn't seem so harmful to begin with - once I realised how quickly I was losing HP, and how quickly my summons bit the dust, I stopped thinking clearly.

New personal rule: when you get close to death, STOP! Do not take another move for 5 minutes while you check everything.

If I had done that, Gotrek would be alive - I still had "blink", the 700hp heal from the Pentagram of Lore, and I think the Black Candle's Mass Genocide might have recharged by then. Oh well, that's why I play this game - it teaches you to think clearly under pressure.

Enjoyed it muchly - now to try a Summoner!
