Another attempt to grow up a Beorning Druid and my best one so far!
Other than my former Druids (15 at least), this time I didn't choose Power Strike, but Clarity (1.) and Heighten Magic (2.).
At character generation I also pumped all points into WIS and CON, thus starting the weakest (STR 8) of all my Druids.
Needs some patience in the beginning but meanwhile I think this could be the way to go.

That has to be the craziest Cloak of Aman I've seen, hands down. At +33, it must be on the verge of exploding :)

Looks like your character is coming along very nicely. Best of luck, and hope that the RNG doesn't bite.

Yes indeed, that's why I just can't sell it!
I clearly prefer Colannon, though. Not so much for r_Chaos, but for the free teleport
in emergency situations (e.g. low HP and confused). The +3 to stealth is also nice...
Colannon already saved my butt in 2 or 3 hairy situations! :-)

Yay! Found Caspanion behind a lava block, well guarded by several Vortices, Nexus Hounds and diverse other nasties.
My first thought was it might be too heavy for a Druid, but obviously not: R_Pois, R_Conf, +3 to INT, WIS and CON more than compensates for the weight. And melee doesn't feel worse than before.
Other than my former Druids this one finally seems to have some luck with decent armor! :-)

Clvl and dlvl 36: my personal record in O!
Always played with autoscummer on, switched to off now.
Just curious about the difference, maybe I can dive a little
bit faster...

Special level on 2200' pushed me up to clvl 40.
I guess it was the room full of spellcasters which triggered the special feeling. Most worthy oponents: Dark elven Sorcerer, then Enchantress and Magicans (+ some low level spellcasters). Fortunately I was carrying enough !Speed and !Healing this time, so I was able to clear the whole level.
Finally I can swap in a =Str+3, since two =Con are not better than one. What I don't yet understand: when I take off the one =Con, my HP decrease around 100. Why? Con is already maxed out...
I also don't understand why the =Dex+5 seems to do nothing besides a very small increase of skill and AC, but no + to Blows/Round.
Anyone knows the math behind?

2400' (very quiet place *g*)
Killed Gorlim and Eol without any real danger at any time.
Btw, it seems to me that uniques don't trigger 'special' feelings in O...
I'm now in ancient dragon depth and about to lose any fear.
Maybe I should better continue with my Vanilla priest for a while, before carelessness kills this char.

Clvl 44 at 2650', special feeling.
There was a large room with a regular entrance and several chambers in the NW corner, featuring:
Itangast
Akhorahil
Scatha
Fundin Bluecloak *!*
I never met Fundin before, not in Vanilla and not in other variants I've played before, but I heard terrible legends about him and felt pretty uneasy. Nevertheless, after beating the other three, I couldn't resist and actually met my toughest opponent ever so far.
The whole fight was going along several phases where both of us had to retreat several times. Most of it took place in a zick-zack corridor I had to dig after he summoned several demons around me at our first meeting. Unfortunately, after a while a horde of Plasma Hounds filled this corridor which was an advantage for Fundin only, since he was able to retreat through the Hounds. Under normal conditions I would take a break, tele self and look for a better place to fight. This time I had to hurry or break the whole fight at all: I'd already used up almost all of my !oHealing (7or8) which I had to quaff every 2 or 3 rounds. Herbal Healing was consuming too much mana and a limited solution, too. So, when he was down to 2 or 3 stars and went back trough the hounds, I dug a bypass to follow him and this way I finally got him!
His drops (Orcrist, Holhenneth) and the stuff in the large room (tons of ego-stuff, a randart armor and, probably useful, Eriril) was nothing against this thrilling and unforgettable fight... :-)

3000' now, clvl 48, all stats maxed out.
Finished Adunaphel off, one of my most hated uniques (at least in ToME she was).
If it's the same as in ToME, she will return from death, though...

Sudden death :-(
This last blow from the Dracolich must have been a very lucky one, I really didn't expect losing about 600 HP in one blow!
Sad story, after all I enjoyed playing this character more than any other before.
That was *FUN* (besides the end, of course)!
