Early ESP always helps and in this case I basically used that Main Gauche for the remainder of the game. The real game changer for me was Belthronding, which helped make up for my lack of offensive gear for Morgoth. I only had 3 wands of drain life and zero annihilation. That last wand always seems to last a long time, thank goodness! Belthronding probably did most of the damage though.

I'm sure I was a bit lucky. I know there were a few turns where Morgoth could see me and he could have one shot killed me...

I've never tried the whole LOS thing apart from the first couple of shots against a monster that is around a corner, before they move closer. Certainly not against something that can just walk through walls like Morgoth? My battles are standing out in the open and just blasting at each other! lol

I don't typically do it this way. I don't have any recordings, maybe I will consider it at some point.

My first wins were typically fighting Morgoth in a destructed zone which permits !PDing out of Morgoth's LOS in order to recover (heal, TO, banish, etc). But eventually I learned that ranged attacks with an LOS advantage require way less consumables (with the exception of whatever you are attacking with) and incur way less risk.

Since TO predictably sends Morgoth the farthest away part of the dungeon and he predictably takes a similar path to you each time, you can come up with optimal position to prepare and wait for his eventual, predictable approach.

Sometimes Morgoth is very annoying and takes a coffee break, which allows him to regenerate. Some classes have abilities to bring him back into battle (Mage/Druid) but sometimes I just have to wait for him to want to deal with me again.
