Posting now while still alive, to see if MR5 has surpassed MR2 on the scoreboard yet. MR5 ended up farming demons (like bron) on DL36. The quest monster was Mother Hydra. Never could get more than a few hits in at a time because she stayed in the same large room the whole time, surrounded by summoned demons and hydras, and a couple of the Judges. Not -TO to fix the problem. For a long time MR5 kept the rest of the level clear as a safe refuge and made quick raids against Mother Hydra and her friends. Eventually the entire level was overrun by 3rd generation popcorn demons. MR5 had to bug out and fail the quest. But the next level quest was Dwar, Dog Lord of Waw on DL42. He went down relatively quick and easy (for a Nazgul). Got several good armors, rings, and amulets, but nothing outstanding. Need speed and better ninja weapons.

Armour total weight matters most. So a heavy piece alone might work out.

Icky wield ruins critical hit bonus for ninja. Possibly more malus. Not sure.

BTW In normal coffeebreak mode and in the main game, there is a quest called the Royal Crypt that provides a 7 pound mithril chain mail with great resists etc. as its reward.

Watch out for Oberon's Mana Storm attack. It hits hard. Once I was down to 22 HP after Kararimi failed to protect me when I had some pre-existing damage. That was my only close call.
I'm going to sort the goodies now, and maybe do a reforge.
Tomorrow, I have an appointment with "J".

Keep in mind that refection has a chance of failing each time. It's not fail safe, and it doesn't always reflect straight back at the caster even when it does work. I've had bolts bounce back and forth between @ and the monster until one or the other failed the return the volley.

This was during my ~5 trips to DL99 before fighting Oberon, which was followed by ~10 trips to DL100 before seriously fighting J. Did J actually get stronger in some way? Super regeneration or reduced damage taken from attacks? At this point I don't see any point in continuing, I'm just curious whether I triggered a penalty or just have an insufficient kit (or maybe I'm just a lousy ninja :)

Having made 12 revisits already, have I maxed out? Or will there be additional penalties (buffs to J) if MR5 goes back to DL100 a few more times looking for uber-good weapons and rings, and then fights J again?

Is the effective AC increase the only kind of J buff? What penalty is there for spell casters and device users?
