This was truly a stupid death. I used phase door to escape a nasty stegocentipede. I saw the low hit point warning, but I didn't realize I was poisoned.

One thing I did learn from this game was about the birth settings. I've been experimenting with them to find the way the game is most fun for me (not necessarily the most winnable). Full ironman was too intense, and also the entire gold and town aspect of the game went away. But I did like the sense of pressure and the fact you have to rely on what you find.

This time I tried forced descent, but still left scrolls of recall in the game. This lowered the pressure considerably and added back some elements that seem to increase the game's depth.
