re Replacement arts: I've gotten some nice things, my armour is Thakketoth and my boots are annoyingly Shivas.

They do feel like a fair trade as I get rDis and rSound in exchange for rNexus, Levitation and Combat bonii. It's just annoying that they finally drop in a Randart game, at level 18 no less.

The +5 HD (vs. +6 from Chaos Warrior) is much more than offset with +7 Spell Power from Blood Rite (+54% damage). It's a tough road getting there though, because you're going to be wanting for HP and damage for most of the game. Infernal Deal combined with Trump summoning really helps.
