I shot Robin Hood and got a nice bow replacement. In fact, I now shoot for a whopping 455 damage provided the fire brand (1.7x) works. And since there is no shooting damage reduction, that's the equivalent of over 700 melee damage! Not bad 2 hours in ...

I really need to reevaluate the relative merits of shooting vs melee. At the moment, I'm good for 1146 damage from my flaming seeker bolts. And I'm really on the look out for Ballista which should catapult me to over 1500 I think, but I haven't done the math. Though at some point I'll need to replace my shot rings with speed rings ... Hah! I should be so lucky ;)

Yup. I tried mutation scumming for a bit. I'm so tired of Ring Juggling that I would love to pick up Harden to Elements. Once acquired, I would go with Weird Mind at L40 assuming I could avoid the Moron that long. For me, mutations are not so good if you have more than 3 or 4 due to the regeneration biff, so my strategy was to skim the lair for chaos vortices. So perhaps my longer term plan is still a good one? Whirlwind Attack can restore 320hp and 80sp, I think, and Greater Whirlwind Attack can kill up to 20 foes! Sacred Vitality also augments vampiric drains allowing up to 100 per foe, so I am quite unbounded in my restorative capacities, provided I can find a nice vampiric weapon.

In terms of Sacred Vitality, I again intended it only to apply to spells, potions, staves, and rods, but I was OK with it also applying to Vampirism. Summary: Make Blood Foo have non-nerfed vampirism and Infernal deal, and add a "Ignore Cuts/Poison" disturbance option.

I hate Habu and was seriously tempted to just fail the quest. Two mana storms and I am done, unfortunately, but he never fired a single storm my way. I really like the Stealthy Sniper. It reminds me of playing Hengband where distance killing was soooo advantageous. For example, I just took out a Sky Drake ... and he never breathed. And never summoned. Just a straight death march down my flaming corridor of bolts! Ah, the good old days :D

And Wahha-man? Could I really melee him with only 200 damage per round? I could barely kill The Invisible Pink Unicorn who only hits about 5% as hard as Wahha. But bolts and strafing meant he never touched me!

Can I make a recommendation? Forget about all this demigod stuff and play a Hobbit Scout! Shooting is freakin' awesome, Hobbits are shooters par excellence, and Stealthy Sniper is amazing. Of course, you could just play Hengband instead ;)

But I promise, at some point I will put my vitally sacred infernal deal to good use. Just not yet. When Cyaegha, Tsathoggua and the Witch King drop faster than you can say "Stealthy Sniper" then you know you are doing something right.

Plus I've only seen a single ring of attacks all game ... They are three times as rare as rings of speed which means I should have found 30 or so by now ;D
