I picked up Turmil, which is a nice boost for me. I can't really melee very well, so the +4 wisdom is much more useful for me at the moment. Encouraged, I took the downward stairs to face my DL24 quest ... and drew Gachapin. Phew ... I'm finally getting my hp up. Getting more than 2 attacks is a different matter. I could tell pretty early that both my strength and wisdom are sub par, and I suspect my life rating might be as well. But it took a looong time to get a 3 boosts to con to tell if that stat was OK. 1 stat potion so far in the dungeon: Int. I also bought a !Int, but only because it was on sale at a 90% discount! Fortunately, the Pulverise spell can be used successfully for a long time. Heck, I've even killed Hell Wyrms with that spell ... So I can wait a bit longer for melee to become useful.
