However, the skill bonus also increases the quality of a critical (as does the weapon weight). The messages "good" and "great" are both basically x2 damage. "Superb" and "*GREAT*" are basically x3. You know, now that I think of it I think the Deific prayers are broken here for some reason. I was able to choose a deity, but even with a few points in prayer I can not cast any deific spells.

I'll try a character in the newer version and see if that is still the case. And Construction seems broken again...
