This character has been staying alive quite a while, no little thanks to the scroll of artifact creation (the first ever I had ever seen) she (back when he was she) stole from Bree's black market while doing the orc caves. Handily level 14 of orc caves had a dragon hunter shop. The result: triple immunity balance dragon scale mail. Frilawan has just recently found Ringil, but he still prefers his old vampiric sword with +40% to life. The simple ego ring with +5 to speed and attack speed is also noteworthy, as is the ego amulet with a small fighting bonus and +40% to life. Egos can be very nice in Theme.

Angband level 86 had a nasty but profitable quest for 11 Greater dragonic quylthulgs. It took a very long time to off all the Ancient Dragons that got summoned, and when it was finally over I was knee deep in loot. At times I was getting messages of loot disappearing because the floor was full. I found lots of speed rings but ended up leaving them all behind. The princess had gotten buried in rock early on because of my use of *Destruction* to block line of sight, but I didn't mind. Chances are, she wouldn't have offered anything that remarkable anyway.

Oops. Looks like even though I got the quest completion message, the princess must be alive for the player to succeed. I have some dragons to kill once again...

Down to Angband level 93 and having a Fumblefingers quest for 20 Great Worms of Balance. These quests really make the experience and the time spent go up.

Quite a lot of things have happened since the last dump. My excursion in Nameless was come to an end quickly when I stumbled on a trapdoor I had forgotten to detect but I didn't mind as I already had great armor. A FF quest for 20 old sorcerors (base level 54) was much more trouble than one might have guessed, but the Tarrasque was not much of an obstacle. I killed Carcharoth and soon after on the same level I stumbled into Huan (neutral) who kept asking about Carcharoth. However I couldn't use the Y command to talk back. Sauron was only moderately tough, even with Cantoras, and he dropped the One Ring the first time (finally!). I then journeyed to Mount Doom, where mysteriously my Rohir ring of Extra Attacks (+5 to speed) turned mysterious into a Rohir ring of Extra Attacks (+2 to speed) but a Nightcrawler dropped an artifact ring that had +5 both to speed and attacks, as well as suistain dexterity, which I had lacked. So I destroyed the Ring and am now on the way to fight Morgoth. I swapped Narya for Flare like I should probably have done a while ago, so my ring setup is now completely different but still strangely the same.

Still searching for Morgoth (the COWARD! Come and FIGHT!) and scumming Angband level 100. I found Earendil's shield, which increases my AC by 75 but means the loss of reflection. I suppose the invulnerability activation is nice against Morgoth (IF I find him, the COWARD...)

I killed Vecna and then went upwards to Dim Gates to rekill some Great Wyrms of Balance for a lost sword. Apparently if you complete a Fumblefingers quest on a special level you get the reward but the quest remains uncompleted so you can do it again -- free skills! Later I found Nenya and switched Flare for it. Nenya's telepathy allowed me to switch Thranduil with its evil ESP for Thengel. Thus I got 5 extra luck points overall. Morgoth is STILL missing. I'm thinking that I might want to check out Nether Realm, the entrance of which I have seen on the wilderness map, if it isn't forbidden for non-winners.

I found out that Utumno was not Nether Realm renamed, but rather a very Angbandish place. I started to dive, and on level 103 I was utterly surprised to encounter Morgoth, for whom I had scummed for ages in Angband. The Morgoth quest description said Angband, too.

The first thing I noticed something was when someone summoned wraiths all around me. That someone turned out to be Morgoth and continued by summoning Ancient Dragons and casting mana storms from the distance. Due to my hitpoints and healing reserves I didn't get very near death, but I decided I should choose a more advantageous battleground anyway. I read a teleport scroll and rested. My rest was interrupted by Morgoth tunneling towards me. I used a wand of demon blade I had picked up a few levels back and activated light speed. Then I engaged Morgoth into close combat. Dungeon shook and shattered under the mighty blows of Morgoth, and various powerful undeads heeded their masters's call, but I proved mightier than the Lord of Darkness. I smote him with my blade until his black and tattered spirit fled, terrified of Frilawan of Rohan.

As a bonus, when I sorted through the loot that had fallen I found a scroll of artifact creation, my second both in this game and ever, and the first such I had found in the dungeon.

I wished to play a little longer and check what the scroll of artifact creation brought me. I read it on the first digger I found and called the result "Morgoth's gift". It turned out to not be cursed, although its modifiers dropped. Still, speed and attack speed are nice to have. Then I went to Edoras to start my reign.

I wonder if I should have tried the Void. I didn't, though. Theme 1.1.3 is out at the time of writing this and I was still playing 0.0.9 (although it shows in the dump as 0.0.7.) Frilawan was indeed a very longlived character and Theme's development quick.
