As to speed, I found that any speed over +20 is not actually needed. Actually, the choice between ROEP and ROS is the choice of potions: to carry POR or POS. POS are cheaper and much more available in Z+A (seems that they are more frequent than in Z). And the need to drink POS arises not too often, I make speed +20 only when fighting uniques. And I use elemental resistance every time I meet a bunch of hounds, ach-viles, or anything alike, which is almost constantly.
