    I don't know if you would prefer it as a home page link over the link currently to the AngbandPlus code repository, but Utumno did get a revival web page circa 2009, which is still up, and hosts what appear to be source code and compiled versions of the original and an updated version by the then-new host:

    (Both compiled versions die with D3D errors on my Win11 laptop though. 'p')

    Might be worth noting that Iso-Angband's author brought it back, briefly

    as "Yanotavar," ie "Yet ANOTher Angband VARiant."

    They were also the author ("Hajo" on this forum, "Etinarg" on roguetemple forums, and named as "Hansjörg Malthaner" on roguebasin http://www.roguebasin.com/index.php/Iso-Angband) of Iso-Funband and Iso-Unangband -- see here, for instance: http://angband.oook.cz/forum/showpos...01&postcount=1 .

    I wish I had more for you. Your list pointed me to a couple more variants that came from PC Angband (BAngband and QAngband). = )

    Your list describes FAngband as

    "Angband 2.4.Frog-knows"

    But if you look down to the bottom of https://github.com/NickMcConnell/Ang...er/version.hlp in the repository you link to for FAngband, below a description of PC Angband 1.31--PC Angband 1.1 was of course the DOS port of Angband 2.4.Frog-knows--you'll find

    ~~~~~
    FAngband History:
    =================
    David G. Kahane
    with multiple missile hit code by Ethan A. Merritt,
    with deferred feelings code by Shawn A. Collenburg,
    and with quiver code by John L. Spetz.
    Nov 17 1993 FAngband Beta Release 0.90
    First beta version posted to ftp.cis.ksu.edu. See the file
    'fangband.chg' for changes to PC Angband 1.31. This version
    still has a -lot- of very ugly coding that I want to clean
    up before calling it a "real" version.
    Nov 23 1993 FAngband Release 1.00
    First release of source. Changes include: more interesting
    descriptions of items, a small change to the mana/encumbrance
    penalty for mages and gauntlets, some enhancements to monster
    fear, John Spetz's quiver code, wider radius light, and a
    few more items and options. Most of the ugly coding has been
    cleaned up, by the way.
    ~~~~~

    So, this is the variant by David G. Kahane called FAngband; it is not 2.4.Frog-knows.

    FAngband on RogueBasin:

    1994 newsgroup thread with Kahane and players discussing changes for the then-upcoming FAngband 2.0:

    The "news" file included with Angband 2.7.4 credits "PC Angband 1.40, UMoria 5.5, and FAngband" as sources; it seems unlikely he'd have written it that way if by "FAngband" he'd meant to indicate PC Angband 1.0 or 1.31:

    The description for Angband 2.5. (beta) mentions "FAngband, the first variant"--which couldn't mean PC Angband 1.0 or 1.31, because those are in the site's official Angband releases list; also, it mentions that many bug fixes and features for the beta came from "UMoria 5.5, PCAngband 1.3 and FAngband," which is unlikely phrasing if FAngband was a PC Angband version (the "news" file included in the beta's source credits "UMoria 5.5, PC Angband 1.32, and FAngband 1.0"):

    ~~~~
    ~~~~

    (Aside:

    I suppose "PC Angband 1.32" in the beta's "news" file is a typo? The release list in the "VERSION.PC" file in PC Angband 1.4 for instance goes from 1.3 to 1.31 to 1.4--no other 1.3x versions mentioned there; and "PC Angband 1.32," "PCAngband 1.32," and PC-Angband 1.32" return no hits on Google--not as "1.3.2," either.

    (Hm which suggests Google hasn't spidered https://github.com/angband/angband/b...lib/files/news, which has the "PC Angband 1.32" mention. Github's code search doesn't find that, either, when enclosed in quotes--and too many hits without quotes; maybe I'm doing that wrong.))

    The Q&A part really helped me I must say haha. I was starting to get very confused with all the names.

    One thing it would be great to see on your table is a column to show the date of last update. That was the one thing I found myself still clicking into each link I was interested in to determine if it was outdated, abandoned, current, etc.

    Thanks for putting in the work for it!

    Your description of Cthangband is out of date.

    Both the skill system and speed system have been removed in more recent versions because they weren't working out.
