I think trap summoned monsters tend to get the first move in most cases if they're faster. In the late game, this can create very quick insta-death situations...yeah, they can be downright unfairly terrible at that point. And another thing, beware of chests-with-summoning-runes-traps...they can be insta-killing bad!Last edited by HugoVirtuoso; December 30, 2015, 12:58.My best try at PosChengband 7.0.0's nightmare-mode on Angband.live:

Thanks, I pretty much skip lategame chests for that extra bit of safety.I think trap summoned monsters tend to get the first move in most cases if they're faster. Since I'm on a roll, another question (completely unrelated): can Greater Hell Beast (the joke monster) drop a corpse if it's not a quest monster? I know it has the DROP_CORPSE tag and, from what I can see, it should drop something. Sadly, I've been trying to get a corpse for a while now with no luck.
For extra details, when killing it I'm a fresh possessor 'G'host. I kill it on dl1 with wands of magic missile and stinking cloud.Comment

Yes, the GHB can drop a corpse just like any other monster with the DROP_CORPSE flag. Thanks, I pretty much skip lategame chests for that extra bit of safety.

And I noticed this interesting bug in 4.0.0:
I noticed lately with a recent Compo 183 dude (it's #221 and not posted) that after carrying excessive weight exceeding the slow down speed of -99 does not speed up hunger. Apparently, the game caps excessively slow speeds at -99. Now, I actually really need to further test if slow speeds from -1 to -99 speed up hunger or not.
Debo - if you want to have a look at my savefile, let me know.Last edited by HugoVirtuoso; January 1, 2016, 11:18.My best try at PosChengband 7.0.0's nightmare-mode on Angband.live:

I find that lategame it's very much worth carrying a source of trap-disarming beam (wand or rod). Not so much for the occasional chest as for the vault maps filled solid with traps, but it also makes those chests accessible.Comment

I see. I must be out of luck then. On the other hand, I perfected the getting-there routine. Although trying to use only the ghost form still takes about 3 hours.
I tend to forget/drop/have it stolen. On the other hand, that let's me play a game of 'is it worth risking stepping on this trap'. It's very entertaining, you should try it sometime.
Edit: So, I finally got the body (after 7 tries). It seems to be capped at cl15 though. There goes yet another fun idea
.

What races/classes do have item feeling "skill" in poschengband? Is there any mention about it in ingame help?
P.S. Just to be sure that my question was understood, by item feeling I mean over time message that certain item in inventory is good, bad, special, etc.As kt making http://angband.live better in time to timeComment

^ That's known as the pseudo-ID, which is class-specific usually. Generally, fighting-based classes (e.g., Warriors) are able to sense the psuedo-ID of weapon (melee and ranged) and armour as good / excellent / bad /special etc, but Amulets and Rings {enchanted}. Whereas, Magic-based classes (e.g., Mage) can sense those Amulets and Rings more specifically as good / excellent, etc, but usually can only sense weapons and armour as {enchanted}My best try at PosChengband 7.0.0's nightmare-mode on Angband.live:
