Maybe there should be in-game alert option notifying players that "It is the 1 hour mark. Take a break?" This could help reduce game fatigue and chances of dying due to...fatigue. With less fatigue, players are less likely to make mistakes, thus, can play more prudently.

You can check actual speed via Probing (being a half-titan makes this trivial if you can "waste" the turn).

That said, I'd think speed range in numbers would fit for "thoroughly" learned monsters, similar to how AC, health and damage numbers are learned.

"Generated with up to +5 speed"

Whoah I had no idea monsters were generated with variable speed. I just thought they got variable turn-taking.

edit: or maybe I'm just an idiot? Anyways. I hate resting during the thief quest and getting stuff stolen without a round of them next to me. Maybe they're just double-moving?
The option appears to be working fine. In the thieves' quest, it is very common to get double moved since those thieves could be generated with up to +5 speed, I think. If you are playing a character without infravision, then your number 1 priority is to purchase a lantern to increase your light radius from 1 to 2. For the thieves' quest, I also recommend purchasing a scroll of light (open the nearest door before reading) and spending all your gold first.

What keys do you all use to hold macros, besides tab?
I use the roguelike keyset, and I find it's pretty densely in use. I'm not sure how to set up a macro that uses ALT. The Interact With Macros > Create a Macro command has trouble reading ALT-Q (for example) for me.

The help file on macros indicates that there should be something I can open and edit, but I'm not sure where it lives given that the /lib/user/ pref files say they are dumps that will get overwritten.

edit: going with the num keys for now

Yeah, I know. I've played them. They can remove regular cursed equipment with their brute strength. Though I vaguely remember having trouble with a cursed lamp that I couldn't take off...

I was referring directly to the Berserker class. Berserkers always have a 100% failure rate for all scrolls and all magical devices in PosChengband.

The Rune-Sword is permanently cursed and increases in weapon dice, and accuracy and damage the more you use it to kill monsters. You will have to spend a **VERY LONG** period of time killing monsters with this to see it effectively grow in power.

And permanently cursed means you will be stuck forever once you equip the Rune Sword. The only way to get this off is to use a Scroll of Mundanity. But, as a Berserker...you can't!!

Should a berserker ever use a rune sword? It's perma cursed and I worry about not being able to un-equip it. What benefits do those swords gain on leveling up?

    My char is here: http://angband.oook.cz/ladder-show.php?id=16344

Any other comments/tips would be welcome, too. I bet my item stats are an outlier compared to most players What was new in 3.3.4?
