Really tough decisions on deep dlvl kit options, though. I want 30+ speed, antimagic, retribution, immunities, and better damage but there just aren't enough slots to go around.

My first ladder post! Not sure what I should work on next. I have been hanging out on Lvl 30-33ish of the Lonely Mountain and the Mountain just looking for stat potions and stuff. Any tips? I cant seem to find any better weapons.

I just found The One Ring. ugh what to do?! Risk the AFC? So tempting!

Lately, I noticed a surge in the number playing PosChengband. What brings everyone to playing this variant nowadays? This variant is now the next popular variant after Sil.

Personally I was long sceptic due to the total mismatch of legends and lore but after the previous comp I realized that while that was certainly true, I also found it a very well balanced game in the way that although you grow powerful fast (which I like), quests and dungeons scale very well in difficulties and offer a reasonably large set of choices which are also clearly visible through the overview map and ^Q keypress. Also important, unlinke Unangband which is also nice in many similar aspects, PosCheng is very stable. Then another compo and I'm reminded that I should play this version!

I got it from Sméagol in one game and I didn't want to wear it because Iit was still low levels

Poschengband Human 30th Level Mutations?

Is there a list anywhere which explains what these powers do? I took evasion in my last game which gave immunity (or near immunity) to breath attacks and earthquacks. Some of the powers are fairly self-explanatory such as tread-softly, but some of the powers such as fell sorcery are a mystery to me. Can anyone suggest a good one for a Rage-mage?

Also, can these mutations be "cured" normally by New Life or other methods, or are they permanent?

These specific mutations are permanent and are almost always good. These cannot be cured by !New Life or that shop in Zul.

I would have gone for Infernal Deal because this would give 10 SP for each kill (assuming this works for the Rage-Mage).

Has anyone played one of these Monster->Demon->Tanar'ri things? It sounds awesome (eventually you get 6 arms), but you're basically a normal dude at the beginning and my hit rate against even 20AC was 5%???? I guess you're supposed to device dudes until you can actually hit something?
