    That's a bit strange:
On the ground: a Metallic Purple Potion of Intelligence.
You feel very smart! (INT goes up to 18/40)
You see no more Metallic Purple Potions of Intelligence.
The weight of your armor encumbers your movement.
WTF? Is he now intelligent enough to recognize that?

Apparently you need a *diet* potion of intelligence.

Hmm. Is the encumbrance penalty a proportion? Maybe when your total MP went up the penalty went from "rounding error" to "has actual effect"?

Loading the savegame isn't the problem, but how do I copy the window sizes, locations, font and tile settings over without looking into and noting down every single setting on the old version (7 terms), and then applying them to the new?

Which port? This should be possible at least with windows, sdl and x11, and possibly with OSX.

Yep - the .ini and any personal pref files (which IIRC are in \lib\user) should do it.

                      Ah, thanks,trying that now.
I vaguely remember I tried that with 0.4xx or 0.5yy and it didn't work out so well ...
INI seems to have worked, the terms showed up as desired.

I saved and loaded a personal prf file, yet the squelch setting behave strangly somehow:
                      1) I'm pretty sure I never squelched normal arrows, as I'm still carrying 50 of them, which suddenly showed up as {squelch}, but didnt get dropped.
                      2) ID'ed a dubious ring, which got squelched - yet no quality or ego squelch showed up in the settings. After toggling them back and forth I was able to pick it up from the floor again.

And here are some more complaints :

                      3) Beorning Huntslady looks like some olive-skinned alien with a staff. (Shockbolt's tiles)

                      4) Rod of Illumination only shows light animation of 3x3 squares, but illuminates more. Once (wasn't able to figure out exactly when) the effect seemingly went out to squares on the 2nd ring.

                      5) Clvl 22 on Dlvl 23 ... Bow of Accuracy, some rings and amulets as drop and in shops, but best armour was +3 whatever. No ego etc. Makes it hard to get resistances, but poision and blindness attacks start to show up.

                      6) A dubious ring "makes you vulnerable to frost" .. yet the resist is termed "cold".

                      7) Squelch menue tells you to navigate using the arrow keys, and to toggle options with "enter". Why doesnt the game-settings-formely-known-as-birth-options page does the same?

Tile art submissions are welcome. I'm sure that particular race, formerly plain ol' ASCII, just got assigned an unused family of already existing tiles due to my inability to draw and general laziness.

Wouldn't it be easier to simply assign a bit more fitting tile art?
How are the different tilesets handles anyway?

Yeah, I'm not sure how well squelch settings translate - I think the standard thing is not to save them in a pref file, because typically you don't want the same ones at the beginning of your new game as the end of your old one."

And not just the Beornings - all Huntsladies look like that, and it looks so bad in the Shockbolt tiles because wherever there sin't an obvious tile I have just used the Gervais one, which typically doesn't match all that well.

Note that all the "player race" monsters have the same tile, because their existence is a bit hacky and I have never worked out a good way to get them individual tiles, let alone actually having that sort of range of tiles or putting in the effort to allocate them all across the 14 player races and five different tilesets.

Long story short - you're going to have to live with it

Nicely observed. It turns out the animation effect in FA always covers one less than the actual ball radius, unlike in Vanilla where it does the whole radius. I don't know if this was originally a deliberate optimisation, but I would certainly now call it a bug. Now fixed in development.

I fixed this in my version, just add one more delay to project function between end of drawing and start of erasing. It actually covers all area, but it starts erasing immediately after it finishes drawing.
