    Party-focused *band

    As someone who has played V Angband since frog-knows I have also been playing Dwarf Fortress recently.
    But it seems to me that it's adventure mode - where you play a lead dwarf with a bunch of hangers-on - is a bit too removed from a roguelike.

    Are there any single player, mulit-@ *bands around? AFAIK TOME is either single-@ or one-@ per real player.

    There was a game called Guild which I believe was based on Angband and let you control up to 4 characters - not sure where to find it; it used to be at www.guildgame.com but that site's down now
    You read the scroll labeled NOBIMUS UPSCOTI...

      Tangband was an abortive attempt, but the game ended the instant *any* of the four player-controlled @-signs died.
      Zaiband: end the "I shouldn't have survived that" experience. V3.0.6 fork on Hg.
      Zaiband 3.0.10 ETA Mar. 7 2011 (Yes, schedule slipped. Latest testing indicates not enough assert() calls to allow release.)
      Z.C++: pre-alpha C/C++ compiler system (usable preprocessor). Also on Hg. Z.C++ 0.0.10 ETA December 31 2011

        Ya, I developed it.

        It used some Angband display code but really was an attempt to build a new roguelike game from scratch.

        guildgame.com is down at the moment, but I'm trying to get some new hosting sorted...

            On a slight tangent, there's always the option of play a Summoner in ToME, or alternatively, just accept FF requests to join you and picking up an NPC posse that way...

              If you want to go the summoning route, Posband is a good alternative, too. Quylthulgs are fun
