I think http://www.oocities.org/ may be it.
That's great - sadly the relevant URL was not mirrored. I may have some leads, though.

Good news - I have located Diabloband 0.0.1. Now archived.

Edit: I've also come across a thing called Vangband - "a Vaxia-based mod for Angband" - but only windows binary, no source

        Pernband?

I vaguely remember a "Pernband" loosely based on the works of Anne McCaffrey. Now that I think about it though, maybe it was discontinued at the request of the author.
“We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. Well, we can do you blood and love without the rhetoric, and we can do you blood and rhetoric without the love, and we can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see.”

Yes; it was what eventually became ToME 2 for licensing reasons.

Thanks Debo for the link to FFVIIband.
I'm playing it now and it's awesome!

I'm really impressed that you found Ponyband since I didn't get around to releasing it yet - I had to put it aside for another project.

                        Seriously, how'd you find that?
I'm trying to think of an analogy, and the best I can come up with is Angband is like fishing for sharks, and Sil is like hunting a bear with a pocket knife and a pair of chopsticks. It's not great. -Nick

The ways of the archivist are mysterious - by which I mean I forget.

Does Yimyanband still function? Tried in Dosbox, and will load the initial welcome screen, then crash with 'Fatal Error'.

I have just updated the Angband Variant Repository with the latest versions of Angband and PosChengband, and have added ComPosband and FrogComposband (in their own new variants section down the bottom).

I am aiming to add other things that have happened since the last update soon too.

                                EDIT1: Updated UnAngband and ToME-ah
